Campaigns – The Where To Publish tab

Introduction

In social media marketing, it’s important to understand where your posts will be published. This aspect of your campaign is crucial in ensuring that your content reaches the right platform. The Where To Publish tab in SU Social is where you can specify the destination of your posts. In this guide, we’ll provide an overview of the Where To Publish tab and its sub-tabs and share some useful tips and reminders to help you maximize its potential.

How do I get to the Where to Publish tab?

On the Publisher section, select your desired campaign and navigate to the third tab. All three types of campaigns have a Where To Publish tab and it allows you to choose from various social media platforms and specific areas within those platforms, such as walls, groups, pages, and boards.

The default view of the tab (see image above) displays the list of accounts you have under Social Profiles along with the destinations each of them has (for example, Facebook has walls, stories, groups, and pages, Instagram has a wall, and Pinterest has a board).

The option to Show Advanced Destinations Options is located in the lower-left corner of the screen and once ticked, your Where to Publish tab will now have two sub-tabs and we will go over them in the next section.

Destinations sub-tab

Destination, by definition, refers to the location to which something is being sent. This sub-tab will show all of your accounts that you have added to SU Social as potential destinations for your posts.

If your campaign is set to only publish to a select number of accounts, this tab can be helpful. To publish to those accounts, simply tick the boxes on the left side of the screen for the respective accounts.

The columns for Groups, Pages/Boards, Wall/Profile, and Story can then be found on the right side. You would indicate here which specific area of that account you would like the post to be sent to.

The selections you made will be tallied (see items highlighted in yellow on the image below) and this will give you an overview of how many destinations will the campaign publish to.

Destination Lists sub-tab

Destination List is a set of destinations. It can be made up of various social networks that are focused on the market or niche you are working in, such as Facebook (walls, stories, groups, and pages), Instagram (walls), Pinterest boards, and so on. A single Destination List can contain as many destinations as you like, and you can use it to create campaigns that will automatically post to the social networks you’ve chosen. This is very helpful if you are publishing the post to numerous accounts, pages, or groups.

Just click on ADD DESTINATION LIST to create one, then think of a destination name that is identifiable to your niche. You may also add tags to make it easier to spot the destination list for a particular niche.

Keep in mind

💡The campaign’s Overview tab will display the error below if you haven’t chosen any destinations or destination lists, or if the destination list you chose is empty.

💡Clicking on the name of the destination list will bring up a pop-up window that will allow you to edit it if you want to change the pages/boards, groups, or walls/profiles to publish to for a particular destination list.

💡 You can select a specific location, such as walls, groups, pages/boards, or stories, for each social profile you’ve chosen. For Instagram, the Overview tab > Advanced Settings > Instagram tab is where posting to IG Stories or Reels can be set up.

💡 For Groups and Pages/Boards, simply click the action links to bring up a smaller window where you can choose the appropriate groups, pages, or boards. When finished, simply close the box.

Conclusion

The Where to Publish tab is an important part of SU Social that allows users to specify where they want their posts to be published. It allows users to choose the social media platforms and the specific walls, groups, pages, and boards where their posts will be sent. By using this tab, SU Social users can effectively target their desired audience and automate their social media posts with ease.
